This months Birchbox was titled ‘dive in’ in the theme of a summertime box! However this months products actually can in a Birchbag, made out of a scuba material and making a super can bag to keep products in when traveling!

The products included in my bag this month were:

After Sun Disaster | Storytime

Hello lovelies, today I am writing a bit of a different post apposed to normal with a situation that I found myself in on holiday (que rather embasassing, but hugely funny story of me!)

To all you who don’t know me, I am an embarrassment, redidulaisy clumsy and always end up doing stupid things and bed luck seems to follow around. However at the age of 19 I have learnt to embrace my unluckiness (clumsiness) and just embrace it and laugh about it! Hence todays post, I felt like it was a good idea to share my story in the case that it may help you guys out and prevent you from doing what I did!

So, on my summer holiday this year I managed to get very badly sunburnt legs! Even with wearing suncream and sitting in the shade, my skin is just so sensitive I managed to get burnt. The pain of the sunburn left me with the good idea of putting loads and loads of after sun on them in the attempt to make them better! And yes, the after sun did work in terms of cooling them down and making them feel better. However, what I did not read on the bottle of the after sun is that it contain tanning ingredients! The result? My sunburnt legs then turning bright orange and being left to look like burnt cheese puffs! (Think Angus, thongs and perfect snogging  – mine were worse!) Honestly the worst possible look you could imagine, it was awful! What made it worse was that I had put over half the bottle on just my legs in one day! Not quite the gradual, sun kissed colour the bottle had promised! Instead burnt cheese puffs was the look I was rocking!

The moral of the story? Firstly try not to get sunburnt in the first place! Secondly make sure you read the entire bottle before applying anything to the skin! And lastly don’t apply half of the bottle in one day! I hope you find this post some what amusing, my family certainly did on holiday! And make sure that you do not make the same mistake as I did!

Hair Ribbon | Current Obsession

Hello Lovelies!! Today I wanted to share with you one of my current obsessions. This being a hair ribbon! I know it sounds slightly childish, but when done in the right way it looks so super cute and girly! I’m in love! And have found myself doing it almost every day when I have to tie my hair up for work. Along with a scrunchie this is my favourite way to have my hair tied up and adds a super girly touch to any outfit!

This look can be achieved sooooo easily! All you need is a piece of ribbon, which I’m sure you could fine lying round your house somewhere (I did!) Or you can purchase some from online super cheaply, check out Amazon! When you have your ribbon, you then simply wrap it around your pony tail and tie in a bow, however you prefer! It is a super adaptable look and can be changed by the thickness and colour of the ribbon to match the look that you are trying to achieve!

Let me know in the comments what you think of this look!

Pixi Glow Tonic

If you’re like me, and are always looking for new skincare products that will make your skin look brighter and more luminous; then look no further! I have recently discovered the magicalness that is the Pixi Glow Tonic and cannot tell you how much I have been loving it! I know I might be a little late to the party on this one as there was a huge hype around it last year, but I still wanted to fill you in on what I think about it!

The product makes my skin feel a lot more clear and brighter than normal, as well as soothing out the texture and giving a slight sheen to the skin! (I definitely think that it lives up to it’s ‘glow’ name!) I currently only have the sample size but have already placed an order for the full size, which you can find here, for when I run out!

I use the product once in the morning and once in the evening after taking my make up off and before moisturising! Due to the toner containing 5% Glycolic Acid, I like to think that it works as a slight exfoliator as well, that gently removes dead skin cells which is why the skin is left looking brighter!

The one thing is was slightly worried about with this product is that I thought it may be a bit tough on the skin and harsh, however I was completely wrong! It applies extremely gently on the skin with no stinging at all, and due to it being so gentle means that I can use it twice per day and I find that it works wonders!

In a nutshell, you need to go right now and purchase this product! I really couldn’t recommend it any higher! If you need something to brighten and smooth out your skin then this is just the thing and definitely lives up to all of the hype around the product! At £18 for a 250ml bottle I think it is pretty reasonably priced as well! Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever tired it and what you think!!

Eco Tools 6 Piece starter set

Eco Tools are a brand that I have loved for ages and always find myself looking at there brushed, purely due to the pure softness of them (It’s amazing!). Recently I picked up the 6 Piece starter set, which you can find here, priced at £15.99. The set includes 5 brushed as well as a super cute little case for the brushes, which would be perfect for travelling with!

The brushes included are:

  • Blush brush
  • Concealer brush
  • Eyeshadow brush
  • Eyeliner brush
  • Lash and Brow gromer

The one reason I love Eco Tools brushes so much is because they are so beautifully soft as well as being made from natural materials, meaning that they are cruelty free and 100% natural. I think that this set of brushes is great for someone starting out in make up and looking for the essential pieces that you will need. Out of all the brushes the concealer brush and the eyeliner brush are my favourites. Although I do not use the eyeliner brush as an eyeliner brush, instead I use it to fill in my eyebrows, I have found it works perfectly for this and applies very soft and smoothly without making sharp lines, which I love!

Overall I think these are a great set of brushes and would definitely recommend to anyone on the look out for new brushes! Let me know in the comments what your favourite make up brushes are!
